Morning Year 3!
Hope you've had a great week. I have been getting stuck into learning French, creating silly collages and taking inspiration from Sophia by doing some gardening!
A massive well done to Matilda for creating some lovely Spanish learning!
I am setting more learning, than I would normally do, today, since it is technically the Easter holidays from tomorrow so I won't be posting any work for a couple of weeks. There's a lot for you to be getting on with but remember it doesn't have to be done in one go.
You have all been getting on brilliantly - keep it up!
I have set three quizzes on Diagnostic Questions - mental addition and subtraction, addition and subtraction using formal method (column) and estimating and inverse. I would like you all to attempt trying to explain your answers.

We are now coming to the end of our Roman topic.
I would like you to research one of the these questions;
Why did the Romans build Hadrian's wall?
What did the Romans do for us (legacy)?
Why did the Romans leave Britain?
What happened to the Roman Empire?
It is up to you how you present your learning - you might write some ideas down, you might create a poster, you might make a powerpoint, video (documentary), newspaper article, write a script, present it using Scratch...however you would like!

I would like you to plan and write your own Roman story. You might base it on the myth of Romulus and Remus or you might create your own - I don't mind as long as it's about the Romans.
1. Brainstorm some ideas (watch the Romulus and Remus video and look at potential plots - links below). Then you might write your ideas down, draw them or discuss them with a sibling, parent, carer or Fluffy the cat.
2. Write your story!
3. Proof-read. Can you spot any mistakes? Like capital letters missing or in the wrong place? Speech marks? Commas in a list?
4. Read your story and then draw only what you have described. What do you notice? Could you have described the setting in more detail? Re-write a section of your story which you think could be improved.
5. Share your story with a sibling, parent, carer or Fluffy the cat and give yourself a big pat on the back.
- If you want some additional learning - you could always turn your story into a book. You might write or type your story and then create a front cover! Or you might want to film yourself reading your story to share on the class page.
Try to include: paragraphs, setting description (five senses - hear, see, smell, touch and taste), adjectives, prepositions (silly preposition video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyMrLQ4ZI-4 )and conjunctions (although, as, so, until, because, but....)

Just wanted to say how amazing all your aqueducts and Roman towns look - you should be very proud of what you have accomplished (even Ernie who called me Cheese Strings)!

Morning Year 3! Well done to those who have been going on Sumdog and Diagnostic questions.
I would like you to do an Art task. You can choose between designing an aqueduct (can you make it transport water?) or a Roman town in Britain (or both if you would like!)
You could paint, draw, use cardboard, use lego, design it on your computer, use items around the house / garden - to be honest anything..... just be creative.
